Immigration is often a family project which demands a lot of energy.  It is important to learn about the procedures before emigrating by using the adequate sources of information.  Of course, the Northwestern Carrefour d'immigration rurale (CIR), advises you to use Canadian government websites in order to fully understand each step of the immigration  process and prepare a successful family project.

There are several ways to emigrate to Canada. Canada receives foreign investors, skilled professionnals, family members and refugees. It is your responsability to properly identify the category in which you want to take steps towards considering Canada as host country.

Once you have started the process, the Carrefour d'immigration rurale can guide and advise you. It is important to note that the C.I.R. has no liability in the study nor in the decisions in immigration cases. This concerns only the federal government of Canada.

Beware of tempting offers that will promise an "easy visa" for Canada and remember to search blogs to be sure how serious are the companies that offer to help you.

The C.I.R. provides free and professional services to guide you in preparing applications if your interest is to get settled in Northwestern New Brunswick.

The steps of preparation and processing of an immigration application has different deadlines in each country and in each immigration category. It is advisable to take  time to prepare you well in order to acheive success. Here are some tips:

- First, identify an immigration category;

- Inquire about the processing time for your application, the documents to provide with your application and related costs;

- Choose a destination (province, city, etc.);

- Do not risk sending immigration applications if you know beforehand that your project has no chance of being accepted by the Canadian government, the exercise might be disappointing;

- Inquire about the living environment that awaits you in Canada. You can find lots of information using web search engines;

- Do not sell your property or your belongings before obtaining a definitive answer to your immigration application;

- Study the language commonly used in the community that awaits you. In Canada, the two official languages are English and French and there are many communities where a language is predominant. Inquire! In Northwestern New Brunswick, the common language is French, although English is also very present;

- Prepare all your identity documents (citizenship papers, passports, birth certificates, marriage, divorce, driving license) and your diplomas and qualifications.
